Golf - Easter Sunday 8th April 2012

The Golf Event of the day was a Medley Irish Team Event + Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.

We had 73 starters with 14 visitors from Eastlakes, Everglades, Gold Coast, Inverell, Killara, Merewether, Terrey Hills, Terrigal & The Australian.

WINNERS:  Col Matterson, Lauren Matterson, Duncan Dyer, & Rosalie Dyer - 123 points

RUNNERS UP:  Des Wilson, Yvonne Wilson, Ron Puiatti & Lynn Puiatti - 122 points on a countback

RUNNER UP:  Luke McGlynn (Merewether) - 39 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Kerry Williams had 5/4 on the 2nd and 5/4 on the 17th; Jan Walker parred the 15th and the 16th and did some good chipping; Bev Way had 36 points and her playing partners Michael & Pauline Norman shared Bev's score with each of them having the same score 17 front and 19 back; Michael Norman parred the 18th; Kathy Small had 21 points on the back 9; Bert Brink played well for his 39 points;  David Small had a birdie on the 1st; Vicki Foster scored 5/3 out of the bunker at the 9th which gave a victory to Vicki & Rhonda for the Keno ticket from George & Wally; Mary Bromwich played with a pink ball for the first 9 holes & played well until the turn - it it now referred to as the "9 hole wonder" pink ball;  Wally Johnston hit his golf bag in one; Lauren Matterson scored 42 points including two 4 pointers; Col Matterson scored birdies at the 7th and 18th; Ron Puiatti had birdies at the 1st, 10th and 11th; Des Wilson's highlight was watching Ron Puiatti score his birdies especially the 11th hole where Ron's drive was close to the 100m marker, chip to within 6 foot of the hole and putted in; Kevin O'Brien had a birdie on the 15th; Yvonne Wilson scored 23 points on the front 9; Rae Brown had five 3 pointers; Wally Bailey & Ray Stapleton both had two 4 pointers.
