Golf - Wednesday 15th September 2010

The Gosford Lady Golfers gave some good support to the Pandora Committee at their Luncheon & Fashion Parade held at Avoca Beach Surf Club today. Merran Adams & Mary Ellis are hard working members of the Pandora Committee who do some great work in the community to help underprivileged and struggling families on the coast. Today's focus was on Grandparents who are parenting grandchildren and increasing our awareness of the current problems some grandparents are facing in this current time being responsible for the upbringing of their own grandchildren. The Luncheon & Fashion Parade was well supported by the community and hopefully there was some good money raised to support Pandora's cause.

On a sad note - I was incredibly sorry to hear that Margaret Nash passed away yesterday after a serious illness. We have many happy memories of Margaret on the golf course and she will be so sadly missed by us all. Our thoughts are with Jeff and his family at this time. There have not been any funeral announcements at this time - I will keep you posted.

The Golf Event of the day was a Men's Singles Stroke - Spring Medal.
We had 169 starters with 8 visitors from Avondale, Concord, Everglades, Hawks Nest, Maitland, North Adelaide, Oberon & Tuggerah.
