Golf - Tuesday 13th January 2009

The weather was quite hot but that did not stop some of our good golfers coming with great scores. My partner today was Judy Verlander. Our golf scores were not fantastic but the company was good. We made good time around the course & were happy to get into the airconditioning at the clubhouse after the event. I was not able to stay long enough for presentation so I have no photos of the winner for today.
My appologies for the late publishing of the blog this week. I have had places to go & things to do this week which included two nights at the Crown Plaza Hunter Valley and golf at Kooindah Waters & Crown Plaza Hunter Valley. Life is full of priorities as we all know.....and somebody has to do it! This will be happening again shortly when I go to Riverside Oaks next week for two days and Byron Bay for two weeks at the end of next week. The results will be published ASAP.
The Event of the day today was a Single Stableford. We had 62 starters with 3 visitors from Muswellbrook, Terrigal and Tuggerah.
RESULTS:
WINNER: Lesley Gregory - 39 points on a countback
RUNNER UP: Rosemary Cohen - 39 points on a countback
3RD: Margaret Nichols - 39 points
4TH: Judy Ruttenberg - 38 points on a countback
5TH: Christine Drakeford - 38 points on a countback
6TH: Doon Jansen - 38 points
7TH: Norma Cubis - 37 points
8TH: Linda Rankin - 36 points on a countback
9TH: D. Bragg - 36 points on a countback
BALLS WENT TO: 33 points on a countback
CCR: 36 PAR 73
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Judy Verlander had a par on the 13th; Rhonda Robertson had birdies on the 18th and was 4" off an eagle on the 4th (wow!) ; Norma Cubis played a nice steady round to score 37 points; Rosemary Cohen tossed in a nice gobbler on the 2nd to score 5/4 and on the 15th a great shot in over the trees to score 5/3; Carol Farrell had 4/4 on the 1st; my highlight of the day (and there was only one) that was a 4/4 par on the 17th.
IMAGES ATTACHED: With Judy Verlander on the first tee; the 3rd dam water in progess; Ray Presdee on duty rough cutting at the 5th tee (between chatting up the ladies).
The latest news on the water situation as I understand it is that we can get Bore Water from the Council. It does have some salt content, but that can be treated - so it is looking a lot more promising that our water situation can get under control.
