Golf - Sunday 17th May 2020

Laurie and Denise Bentlin at the 14th tee
Our playing partners today
(No group photos due to social distancing rules)

Our playing partners today were Laurie and Denise Bentlin and we really enjoyed the lovely weather - the golf was not always lovely but we did have some good highlights - the best of which was 5 x 3 pointers by Laurie. Peter and Denise were our champions with 32 points each.

Highlights of the day as reported to me: Laurie Bentlin had 5 x 3 pointers, Denise Bentlin had 18 points on the front 9 and had no wipes, Peter Martin got over the 3rd dam; Brett Margin had a nice birdie on the 13th; Karen Askins had an 83 metre shot into the hole on the 16th to score 4/4;  My highlights (after a big break) was scoring 30 points, having no wipes and finishing with the same ball I started with.

Unfortunately social distancing prevents me from gathering highlights from most of the players as we don’t get to see anyone now that the 19th hole is closed.

I don’t know about anyone else - but I miss the 19th hole and am suffering withdrawal symptoms. No wine and social interaction after golf - albeit we have a good or bad golfing experience. It is good for everyone to have presentations where we can celebrate the winners and have a little brag about our good moments on the course.

Happy golfing everyone until we get back to normal golf as we understand it.

The Golf Event of the day was a Medley Stableford.

We had 140 starters with 5 visitors from Everglades, Boonah, Mangrove and Waratah,.
