We had a great day to celebrate Gala Day at Gosford Golf Club.  The weather was perfect to be out on the Village Green.  We were challenged by Greenkeepers Revenge where the pins were put in somewhat difficult places which did not worry some of our good players.

Our playing partners were Mark Stimpson & Alice Diamond who were great company & Mark was our star scoring a nice birdie on the second hole and going on to score 37 points and our team came in one point shy of challenging the winners.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford + Team 1 x 2 x 3.

We had 86 starters with 3 visitors from Shelly Beach and South West Rocks.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Liz Robinson & Lorraine Bignall were playing down the 9th fairway - Lorraine's ball was sitting in front of the green & Liz was 60 metres back, hit her shot to the green, hit Lorraine's ball and stopped on the spot, Lorraines ball ricochet into the bunker - lucky it was not the other way around; Mark Stimpson had a birdie on the 2nd and had his name on the nearest the pin on the 12th; Garry Trigg had a chip in gobbler on the 6th and parred the 3rd; Spencer Walklate had 4/3 on the 9th; Jan Walker had 5/3 on the 10th & 5/3 on the 6th; Leonie Kelly had 2/5 on the 12th & the team of Margin, Kelly & Dyer had 10 points on the 12th; Phillip Wilson had 41 points and teamed well with Kim Cardiff with 39 points; Col Matterson had a birdie on the 10th; Ron Puiatti had a Gobbler Birdie on the 5th; Russell Willings had a birdie on the 10th and was 2 over on the back nine (he had heavy shoulders from carrying his team); Fay & Wal Bailey enjoyed a lovely day with their visitors Gai & Geoff Greenwood from South West Rocks; my highlight was getting two 3 pointers on a row on the 1st and second holes.
