Golf - Sunday 18th December 2011

What a great day for golf today - perfect weather with not even a sprinkle of rain to upset our day on the village green.  Our playing partners were Wally & Rhonda Robertson & we had just the best day having some great highlights between us.  Not enough to win any trophies but a very enjoyable day.  We had some birdie chances and some well earned pars with Wally getting the ball right out there when it mattered.

The Golf Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men and Ladies.

We had 89 starters with 9 visitors from Branxton, Muree, Oatlands, Pymble, Terrigal & Wyong.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me:  Rhonda Robertson putting for a birdie at the 17th and parring the 18th; Wally Robertson had smoking shots at the 16th, 13th, 9th and the 7th; Peter Martin had some good 3 pointers on the back 9; Anne Baker had 23 points on the back 9 for her 39 points; Jack Baker had a birdie on the 2nd; Brent Frewin had a 3/4 birdie on the 4th; Vicky Morris had no wipes and four 4 pointers in her 40 points; George Foster had birdies at the 12th and the 16th; The boys - Duncan Dyer & George Foster -  reportedly smashed the girls for the keno ticket; Des Wilson had two 4 pointer birdies at the 15th & 16th; Col Matterson had birdies at the 1st, 16th and 18th; Lauren Matterson had 3/4 on the 8th;
Doug Incoll had 4/4 at the 13th;  Doon Jansen sank a long 25 metre putt at the 6th; Kevin O'Brien chipped and putted well; Doreen Trigg had 4/4 on the 11th with a beautiful chip in shot; Louise Bush had a 5/4 at the 18th; Stephen Cross had a birdie on the 10th; The team ahead of Alex Pitty's group reported his second shot at the 2nd fairway landed on the green on cue;  John Hazzard had 4/4 on the 17th - on the green for 3 and sank the putt; Julie Hazzard had 4/3 on the 16th; Brian Purcell had a birdie on the 15th; Brian Purcell, Sheena Asken and Nigel Asken had 69 points with a 3 man team; Clyde Cruickshanks had a birdie on the 2nd; Lyn Cruickshanks won nearest the pin on the 8th hole and won the 18th hole to square the boys for the keno; June Bowen had four 4 pointers and four pars with a back 9 score of 25 points; all these highlights fade into insignificance when you read my highlights which were - not wiping a hole, not losing a ball, scoring 4/4 at the 17th, scoring 36 points (my best effort for about 3 years ) - AND I won a ball. HOW GOOD DOES IT GET!
