Today was a great fun day for those that wanted to participate. I was amazed at the number of fantastic theme choices that were made for this event. Everyone excelled themselves with their imagination whether they were in simple form or more exteme "out there" outfits. Congratulations go to all the girls that took part today & especially those that joined in to make it a fun day for everyone at the luncheon.
It was cold out on the course - but dry! We just needed a few extra layers against the colder weather today & we were right to go. The course is drying up with the bit of wind that has been around - so hopefully soon we will be "mud free".
My playing partners today were Rosalie Dyer, Yvonne Wilson and a visitor from Mangrove Mountain Club - Julie Curren. We had a good fun day & did not have less that 4 team points per hole and played well enough to win a ball.
The Event of the day was a Stableford 2 scores to count Team Event. We only had 41 starters which was dissapointing when it is such a good day both on the golf course and at the Theme Luncheon that followed at the end of play.
The Theme was to come dressed as a "Song" title. This was loosely interpreted to include nursery rhymes and we had some very clever outfits - well thought out by our members as you can see by the attached photos. After presentation Helen Broadbent offered her services as MC to bring the groups up to "sing" their theme songs - with the help of Helen & everyone else in the room. Helen did a sterling job as compere & song assister & had us all joining in the merriment.
The social committee girls did a great job of decorating the tables for us in the Magnolia Room with music tapes, records etc.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: I did not gather any highlights today as I was too busy with photos - but did anyone notice the golf ball lodged half way up one of the trees to the left of the 2nd fairway along the school fence - before the dogleg corner. I think that may stay there for a while as it is a long way to climb to retrieve the ball.
I don't know who I would have given the best dressed award to today as each of the outfits were very unique and so well put together. You can judge for yourselves from all the above photos.
Congratulations to everyone who paticipated today to make it a lighthearted fun day.
Let's see some more numbers turning up for our next fun day to give the committee some well earned support.
