What a lovely day it was for golf today, blue sky, sunshine, a dry course in good condition, greens a lot faster than they were in the wet - there were no excuses for bad scores.
The course was looking great in spite of the bits of loose timber brought down by the high winds a few days ago. F-Troop will be back in gear tomorrow to help to clean up all the untidy areas and to do some work on the water worn paths. I couldn't help but notice how pretty the dams were today - full of water and weed free. The reflections picked up on the 3rd were great (photo attached - for those of you too engrossed in your golf to notice)
F- Troop will be meeting at 7.00 am to 7.15 am at the greenkeepers shed tomorrow. There is a lot of work to be done on the paths and general cleaning up. Any members who can spare a few hours to help our regular workers - your time would be most appreciated as we have a very large park to look after.
Our playing partners today were Russell and June Hayes & we had a lovely day on the village green. June had some great three pointers & a highlight of 3/4 on the 8th.
The Event of the day was a Singles for Men and Ladies Plus Medley 1 x 2 x 3 Team Event.
We had 110 starters with 5 visitors from Everglades, Mangrove Mountain, South West Rocks and Wyong.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: June Hayes had a 3/4 on the 8th; Chris Drakeford turned in 22 on the first nine; John Hazzard & Ron Beechey were beaten by the girls for the keno ticket under false pretences - the girls put them off with harressment as they were putting; Gary Sammons was behind the 6th chipping onto the green after his first attempt was an airswing; Ron Puiatti had three birdies on the 5th, 15th and the 18th and a few "could have beens"; Jan Walker had a par on the 18th; Norma Cubis had a birdie. My highlights were that I had no wipes and we had our grandson "Joel" at the Golf Club for his first visit and "showing".
