On Wednesday 29th some of the Gosford Golfers and friends went to see "Chicago" compliments of Paula Drew's theatre booking skills. We had a lovely day catching an early train from Gosford, coffee at the waterfront at the Casino, lunch and a wine at the Noodle Bar comfortably before the start of the show at 1.00pm. It was an excellant show and we were safely home by 5.30 pm.

F-Troop - Monday 27th July 2009

We had a good day at F-Troop in spite of being down in numbers for various reasons.
The Troopers put in some heavy work renewing the paths on the 4th and the 14th, repair work to a broken pole at the putting green, rough cutting, picking up sticks and rubbish from around the course, raking of the front entrance area and around the 1st and 10th tees, weeding of the putting green garden, cleaning out the gutter around the putting green, trimming of the shrubs in the front entrance garden.
Those in attendance today were George Foster, Garry Trigg, Warren Gray, Bruce White, Des Wilson, Geoff Bridge, Arthur Verlander, Peter Martin and Jan Walker. Jan did some hard yards on the raking and cleaning of the front area and around the first and 10th tees. Thanks Troopers - you all did great work today in upgrading the appearance of our course.
I did notice through the week Leonie & Richard Casey working on their adopted garden - the front street garden which they keep in immaculate condition for us. Thank you Leonie and Richard!
We need some more volunteers as we get closer to the Pro Am on the 16th August so that the course can be looking in great condition. If you think you can spare some hours in the next few weeks especially closer to the 16th August then please let me know so that we can include you in our planning.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Golf - Saturday 25th July 2009

It was a beautiful day for golf and weddings and today we blended both beautifully. The wedding garden looked fabulous and so did our new garden. We had just managed to secure the new garden feature into place and spread out some more mulch before the bride arrived.
The wedding went very smoothly & everyone seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere in the wedding garden. A reception was held in the Magnolia Room afterwards & guests could enjoy the beautiful sunshine on the balcony while the Bride and Groom were having photos taken out on the course.

Golf - Friday 24th July 2009

Having a golf free day gave me the opportunity to go shopping for the new features that we need for our garden. After hunting through various nurseries and hardware shops I came across what I think is the perfect feature for our wedding garden. We were able to negotiate a good deal on the purchase of two garden bench seats and the boy/girl garden feature. The bench seats will arrive next week and the garden will be nearing completion.
Many thanks go to Paula Drew for her generous donation which enabled us to add these features to our garden. The extra garden mulch was funded by a donation from Anne Burgess and the balance from the F-Troop "Sale of Timber" fund.
The golf event of the day was a Single Stroke for Men and Ladies.

Gosford Golfers Team Bonding night -24th July 2009

It was a great "Team Bonding" night - leading up to the Team series starting this Sunday.

Bruce & Leanne Binns, Sandy & Peter Laybutt, Fraser & Lyn Bates, Nigel & Sheena Asken, Yvonne & Des Wilson, Peter & Jan Martin - what a totally social gathering!

It was a very entertaining night at the Cafe Sicilian at Gosford - something different with the Mowtown Music theme and some foot tapping music. Reverand Leroy J. Belvedere 3rd Jnr led the "sermon" ably assisted by support entertainers sisters Tarnia and Shazayam.
Brother Beau got us on the dance floor with some lively songs.
We were all dissapointed that Beau was not a golfer as we all wanted him on our team!
The evening went very quickly with everyone having a good time and "bonding" well.
