Another big week for F-Troop today with a rain free day to help us get on with our projects.

Projects worked on today was tree maintenance and firewood preparation; Fairway maintenance and weed removal from the dams; hedge maintenance; mulch and weeding to the gardens at the chipping green garden and Practice nets garden; weeding and watering of gardens at the 2nd, 3rd and 5th tees, weeding the garden at the back of the men’s tee at the 10th.

Morning tea of fresh sandwiches in sunshine was appreciated by all the hard workers.

Overnight storms did not put our F-Troop volunteers off this morning with 10 volunteers on hand to help with our projects.

The course was wet but not too bad considering the strength of the storms. We were able to work rain free. 

On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Frank Potter, John Hollebon, Rick O’Shea, Cathy McGowen, Laurelle Freeman and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were firewood preparation; Removal of weed from the dams; hedge maintenance; protective tree guard placed around the lemon magnolia; removal of camphor laurel shoots from the garden at 2B Green; removal of weeds from the practice putting green garden; trimming of grasses at the 13th Tee garden; finishing off the mulching of the lavender garden at the 16th tee; weeding and mulching the gardens at the practice chipping green. 

We finished the day rain free and enjoyed our morning tea of fresh sandwiches.

The Mornington Peninsula Tourists had a great day at Portsea today - Results above.

There was no competition golf today due to insufficient players.

The course was not too bad considering the storms we had overnight.

We had a very busy day at F-Troop today with a lot of projects running.

On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, John Hollebon, Rick O’Shea, Frank Potter, Cathy McGowen, Bev Way and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on were assistance to tree arborists; firewood preparation; repairs to our fairways; hedge maintenance; blowing the front car park, raking the leaves at the back of the clubhouse; blowing the paths from the clubhouse down to the 1st and 10th tees; mulch to the garden at the 1st tee; weeding the front garden at the BBQ area; finishing off the weeding of the Lavender Gardens at the 16th tee; mulch to the lavender garden at the 16th tee; a start made on deadheading the Streletzia and weeding the garden at the Magnolia garden.

Thanks to F-Trooper John Hollebon who got our donated blower and hedger back in good working order - the only cost was a new spark plug.

We enjoyed our Morning Tea of fresh sandwiches in beautiful sunshine.

We had a lot of our normal volunteers away on holidays or golf offers etc so we had a small crew today who did an exceptional job in working on our projects.

It was a hot day so we were happy to enjoy our well earned morning tea of fresh sandwiches.

We were very fortunate to receive a donation of a Ryobi leaf blower and a Ryobi petrol hedger which was very much appreciated especially by our hedge master John Hollebon. We will put these tools to good use. Our thanks and appreciation to our donor Don Wiseman.
