Golf - Saturday 20th November 2010 - Results of the Men's Foursomes Championships

It was a huge day at Gosford Golf Club today. Not only did we have blue skies and sunshine for the 164 players in the Foursomes Championships but also a lovely day for a 3.45 pm garden wedding with a reception following in the Sunset Room, another wedding reception in the Magnolia Room and a 30th birthday party in the Links Room. As you can see by the photos the staff have excelled themselves once again with the club decor & the garden wedding was perfect. The Bridal party arrived in the biggest stretch limo I have ever seen.

We had no rain at all but a big dampener to my day was to discover two legged vandals had destroyed one of the standard white iceberg roses at the putting green which we had grown to a beautiful specimen with much TLC. To say I was disappointed was a big understatement.

More vandals at work were some rabbits at the first tee which have eaten the annual flowers down to the ground. This I can tolerate (but not happily) as rabbits do not know any better.

Work has commenced on the rock orchid garden which will enhance the orchid garden already in place.

The Golf Event of the day was the 2010 Men's Foursomes Championships held over two divisions and we had 164 starters.
