Golf - Tuesday 13th July 2010

We were very fortunate today to get in our 18 holes without any substantial rain. It was wet enough underfoot without heavy rain. We had a bit of nuisance showers which did not interfere too much.

My playing partners were Julie Hazzard & Lorraine Bignall & we had a lovely day once we were out of the puddles & mud and had some good highlights along the way. Lorraine was our star scoring one 4 pointer and five 3 pointers.

The Event of the day was a Single Stableford and we had 68 starters.

WINNER: Shirley Daly - 37 points

RUNNER UP: Lesley Gregory - 34 points

DIVISION 3 - 34 TO 45:

WINNER: Lynn Puiatti - 39 points

RUNNER UP: June Bowen - 38 points

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Lynn Puiatti had no wipes; Lorraine Bignall had a 4 pointer at the 8th and five 3 pointers; Julie Hazzard had a 4 pointer & a 3 pointer in a row; Jan Walker had 3/4 on the 12th and a gobbler on the 2nd for 6/3; Margaret Nichols had a 4 pointer on the 12th; Merran Adams enjoyed being back to play at Gosford; Robyn Johnston had a 3 pointer at the 17th; Doon Jansen was happy to be back to golf; Elizabeth McNamara sank a long putt on the 13th; June Bowen had a 4 pointer on the 15th; Doreen Vines had two 3 pointers; my highlight was finishing with the same ball I started with.

- : Priscilla Webster celebrated her 80th birthday. Happy 80th Priscilla!

- : Michelle Toth (our new Pro Shop Team Member) was married last weekend to a local Newcastle man Rick McGrath. Michelle is from Canada and has played a lot of golf in the USA.

Michelle has told me that the wedding was perfect & the weather stayed fine for them.
