Golf - Thursday 15th July 2010

Today we had our "Crazy Hat" Theme day which was very popular choice with those that supported the day. We had some great hats on display as you can see by the photos & everyone made a great effort to participate in the spirit of the day. Barbara Stratford & Alice Collett made a great job of decorating the Magnolia Room for our post golf luncheon and presentation which was capably presented by our Vice Captain Wendy Stapleton.
My playing partners today were Fay Bailey, Sheena Asken & Margaret Mackie & we had a very enjoyable day on the village green. We did have some good highlights & some funny moments along the way & the weather was very kind to us. It was a little chilly with the early morning winds at our 8.30am shotgun start but it fined up to a warm sunny day hat was very pleasant.
The course has dried out substantially with the high winds of the last two days. Sunshine has been forecast for the next few days so it can only get better.
The Event of the day was a Team Stableford - 2 scores to count and we had 32 starters.
