Another nibble at the 13th Ladies Garden
Clivias at the 14th Greenspace recovering from their transplant.
dead leaves removed and nice green centres and flowers emerging
Some members have had concerns that the cliveas are dying but it is only
transplant shock and poor soil conditions. Some TLC will bring them back
so don't be concerned as some of them are flowering already
Cliveas now coming into flower at the bush toilets
The Japanese Elm at the 6th Tee has been causing concern
to some members with regard that the tree may be dead.
The tree has got new shoots and leaves coming that do not
show any signs of wilting and many more shoots should come
as the months get walmer. The tree should grow into a more
manageable shape and the formation of the tree has been much
improved. We are expecting great results.
We had a freezing cold day for our projects today and thankfully we had fourteen volunteers to move our projects along. It felt cold enough to be snowing!
On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Kevin O'Brien, Rob Benson, Steve Hogg, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Don Nicholls, Andy Henebury, Garry Trigg, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.
Our projects today were loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, tree maintenance, wood splitting, hedge maintenance, weeding, watering multiple gardens, deadheading streletzias at the 15th, tidy up around the clubhouse, BBQ area, 1st and 10th tees, planting new hedge plants at the 4th tee, planting in new hedge plants at the 10th tee, straightening up the seat in the 6th tranquility garden, cleaning the 14th bush toilets, tidying up the clivea plants at the 14th greenspace.
Hot Coffee and Tea was very welcome at morning tea time along with our goodies that are donated by Barto's Bakehouse. Thanks Barto!
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
