What a perfect day to pick to have a Spring Carnival Fun Day.....and what a fun day it was!
Wendy Stapleton with the help of Kay Adams did a wonderful job of organising the fun day.
Starting with the straightest drive on the 1st; nearest the "pot plant" at the 2nd; nearest the flags on the 3rd; a flower garden hazard in front of the green at the 4th; a "zigzag" driver to hit off the 5th tee; a racing hurdle barrier at the 6th; only able to use one club plus putter at the 7th; drive with putter & putt with driver at the 8th; and everyone allowed a "Mulligan's" shot on the 9th. That was for the first Novelty 9 hole stableford which was followed by a normal 9 hole stableford. The course was under maintenance & all of the greens had been sanded so it was a hit & hope on the greens.
The potted plants on display were supplied by Narara Valley Nursery & Members are reminded that you can have 12 1/2% discount off all items that are not already discounted at Narara Valley Nursery by showing your Membership card.
My playing partners were Elizabeth MacNamara and Shirley Daly & we did have a fun day. We somehow managed to play the first Novelty 9 holes better that the second Stableford 9 holes. We had some really good highlights & Shirley & I won a ball for our efforts.
The Event of the day was a SPRING CARNIVAL FUN DAY with no handicapping as we had to play the same 9 holes twice due to the greens being under maintenance.
We had 63 starters.
