The New Gosford Golf Club Logo which will be introduced over a period of time
We had all four seasons to deal with on the village green today. We had the lot - with Sunshine, stormy clouds, mild winds, wild winds, more sunshine, showers, more sunshine, more wind and slight showers followed by sunshine.
Our playing partners today were Cyril & Shirley Daly & we had some fun out there searching for lost and plugged balls but in general having a great day with some good highlights the best of which was a nice 38 points from Cyril who played a great front 9 scoring 23 points on the front 9.
The Event of the day was a 2 Ball Team + Single Stableford Mixed Men & Ladies.
We had 80 starters with one visitor from the Gold Coast Qld.

RESULTS OF THE DISTRICT FINAL OF THE "SURE SHOT" NSW MEN'S 4 BALL CHAMPIONSHIP HELD AT GOSFORD GOLF COURSE TODAY:
WINNERS: Wayne Cotterill & Wayne Murray (Toukley) - 47 points on a countback
RUNNERS UP: Ray Presdee & Spencer Walklate (Gosford) - 47 points

Commiserations to Ray & Spencer from our Gosford Club & congratulations for a mighty effort in coming so close to winning.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Ross Drakeford had a birdie at the 9th; Wally Robertson had a birdie at the 15th; Rhonda Robertson had a lovely drive at the 8th and won nearest the pin; Cyril Daly had 4/4 at the 6th; Shirley Daly had a great drive to the 8th green; Wally Loshci had birdies at the 5th & the 17th; Tania Burt had 5 three pointers on the front 9; Dick Bosley had three 4 pointers; Wally Bailey had 4 pointers at the 15th & 16th & played steady golf; Fay Bailey had 35 points and had a 4 pointer at the 4th; Wendy Stapleton had a nice 36 points & scored 3/4 on the 15th; Kay Frewin scored more than 30 points which will bring her back next week; Arthur Collien had birdies at the 15th & the 18th; Leanne Binns parred the 18th; Fraser Bates had 24 points on the back 9; Lyn Bates highlight was keeping Fraser company; Doug Incoll finished with three 3 pointers to demoralize the girls; Yvonne Wilson had gobblers at the 4th & the 14th, scored 35 points including five three pointers, together with Rae Brown to beat the boys for the keno ticket which went on to win them $120; Graham Brown scored 5/2 at the 16th without touching the 16th fairway; my highlight was scoring 5/3 at the 9th and scrambling past 30 points.
Another good highlight for this week was Wally & Fay Bailey's 45th wedding anniversary yesterday - Congratulations Wally & Fay. (adds a bit of fuel to the fire in the recent research on "How to play successful Sunday Golf" rumour circulating in the last few weeks)
It was good to see Rob Brann up & about on his new leg & almost sprinting up the steps of the clubhouse today. We are looking forward to seeing you back at golf soon Rob !
Our course is starting to burst into bloom with many colourful plants giving a great end of winter display. (Some photos attached)
The Pro shop is progressing further with the buggy room all but complete & the tiling in the washroom really looking good with Trevor Blackburn putting his skills to work (photo attached)
