Golf & MUSIC!
What do a business owner, an engineer, an accountant, a film maker and three teachers, have in common? Golf? Nope! Work mates? Nah! Friends from school? Wrong! Music, that’s what! A great passion for music brought Steve Kearney, Mark, Nick, Ross, Sharon, Patrick and Steve together and from there they formed the Oak Road Band.
About two years ago, Steve Lynch placed an advertisement in the Matchall Hall Newsletter , looking for local musicians who may be interested in getting together to form a band. This resulted in these seven people coming together and the The Oak Road Band was born. They have been playing together ever since. The band consists of Patrick Nicholls guitar, Nick O’Meara guitar/ vocals, Ross Hendy bass/vocals, Sharon Campbell vocals, Steve Kearney drums, Steve Lynch vocals/percussion and occasionally Mark Bunyan on saxophone.
If you are lucky enough to be driving along Oak Road on a Wednesday night you may very well be treated to the sounds of the band rehearsing some of their tunes; anything from rock ‘n’ roll to blues.
Next time you are planning a function or party and you want your guests to get up and dance, consider The Oak Road Band! A mix of 60’s 70’s & 80’s classics from Stones ,Eagles to Sting & plenty in between. Call Steve Lynch on 0409264878 or Rockin Ross Hendy 0413324617

What a great night we had at Gosford Golf Club tonight - not only to be able to celebrate with our trophy winners but to have a lovely dinner and to enjoy the entertainment from Ross Bryant who spoke to us about his experience with the world of radio and great music by "Oaks Road the Band" who are local people who have formed a band.
We had about 120 people attending the evening which was fantastic for our club. I think that everyone had a very enjoyable evening and those of us who really enjoyed the music and got up on the dance floor and danced the night away. We did have some twinkle toes who really set the pace.
