Everybody can be excused for thinking that there would be no F-Troop work done today. Out on the course that was true as it was too wet for heavy vehicles however we can always find work to be done no matter the weather.
Our die hards Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Duncan Dyer, Peter Martin & myself found enough work to keep us going until morning tea & then we gave up as the weather really closed in with light hail & thunder storms.
We were able to cut up old carpet remnants that we had kept to be used as weed matting on the gardens. With the help of some of the green staff, F-Troopers cut up a trailer load of carpet which I put out on the putting green garden between showers. We managed to get part of the mulch on before we got washed out with heavy rain.
Martin Gallagher and Geoff Bridge did some repair work in the BBQ area managing to get a drain through the garden bed to allow the water to run through from the BBQ area and to prepare the BBQ door for new hinges. Peter Martin purchased repair gear for the door and for the repair of the upstairs tables that are getting shabby from wear & tear.
The course has been under deluge with more rain to come. This latest rainfall will really test out the drainage systems on the course as it was very wet underfoot when we played on Sunday. I understand that the new drainage put in at the 10th bunkers was working well.
