F-Troop - Monday 16th May 2011

It was a chilly start for F-Troop early duty but it warmed up to a beautiful day and we achieved a lot of projects with eleven F-Troopers on hand.

We had Peter Martin, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Noel Fenning, Duncan Dyer, Des Wilson, George Foster, Warren Gray, Anne Burgess, Yvonne Wilson & myself.

A major project today was to repair a damaged brick fence at the front of the club. Peter Martin & George Foster did some super bricklaying and the fence is as good as new.

Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Des Wilson & Noel Fenning took care of the rest of the tree trimming on the 6th fairway which has now been completed. Martin is also taking care of the repair work necessary on the BBQ Door. We have yet to work out how to repair the water feature in the BBQ area that was damaged by vandals.

Warren Gray was on pick up duty, collecting loose timber & rubbish from around the course which included five ute loads of rubbish from the back of the practice nets alone. It is amazing where it all comes from - that all came just from the front gardens of the club.

Anne Burgess and I worked around the putting green and the back of the wedding garden area including the practice nets and the 1st tee. The gutters of the putting green were cleaned, the gardens partially weeded, the back area behind the wedding garden raked & many large sticks picked up around the left hand side of the 1st fairway. Anne also cleaned up at the BBQ gardens.

Yvonne & Des Wilson gave their gardens at the 14th some TLC.

Morning tea this morning was well earned and enjoyed by the F-Troopers - Croissants & Jam were very welcome. Thanks John!

Another good day of work with much achieved.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
