We had a very enjoyable day today in perfect weather. We were booked in to play golf at Mount Lawley at 12.30 pm so to fill in time in the morning we visited Royal Fremantle Golf Course just for the experience. Royal Fremantle Golf Club was a very impressive place but unfortunately was booked out for Saturday Golf for the Men's competition so we had to miss out playing there this trip.
Mount Lawley is a private course so members are given first preference. It was good that we could get a booking (via Ritchie Ball) after the ladies pennants matches had finished.
At Mount Lawley we met up with the Club Professional Ritchie Ball who had booked us in for golf and walked the first couple of holes with us which we really enjoyed. We played the 18 holes and really appreciated the course. The greens had not long been maintained but we still had a good day. The course was not too difficult but not without hazards that at times were very challenging. Peter was the champion of the day scoring 37 points. Members are encouraged to walk to prevent damage to the fairways. Anne was able to have a single seater motorised cart on medical grounds but we managed to walk the course easily.
The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.
We had 102 starters with 15 visitors from Everglades, Mangrove Mountain, Shelly Beach, Terrigal & Toukley.
