F-Troop - Monday 7th March 2011

We had an excellent day for F-Troop work & managed to get some important tasks done with a reasonably small contingent of workers. Those that were helping today were Geoff Bridge, Martin Gallagher, Garry Trigg, Warren Gray, George Foster, Peter Martin, Richard Casey, Georgina Lamb, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The boys all collectively worked together today firstly filling a lot of the pot holes in the cart paths with road base & then going on to 4th fairway where they completed trimming the trees, including picking up sticks & rubbish from around the course.

Anne Burgess did a great job of transplanting & watering the bougainvilleas & Camellias along the "Camellia Way" & cleaning up the BBQ garden area. After morning tea Anne helped us to complete the weeding of the native garden at the 6th.

Georgina Lamb & I worked all morning on the gardens at the 6th tee & back of the 5th green. The gardens were very dry so they were weeded, soaked and treated with Seasol. Georgina did a wonderful job of tidying the edges of the paths & the steps & they look very respectable.

We then went on to weed & water the three big native gardens at the 6th tee which was quite a job.

Morning tea was very welcome as we all worked overtime & delayed morning tea until the work was completed. Chef John prepared us some delicious fruit pastries - still warm from the oven. Yum! Thanks John!

F-Troopers Richard & Leonie Casey, after morning tea, worked on the front street gardens which is the area that they have adopted to look after. Thanks Richard & Leonie - we appreciate your work!

During the week F-Troop were donated some building materials by Member Graham Singleton.
Thanks Graham! Those materials will be invaluable and will assist us with our F-Troop projects.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
