Pennants 2023
Senior Pennants for 2023 has been completed and all our teams fared well. A grade won 3 matches and if a few close results had gone the other way they could have finished in the top 3.
C grade had 5 wins from their 8 matches and finished a good 3rd and B grade won 6 matches and the Pennant. This win is the third Pennant in a row for our B grade team.
Our Juniors also had a great year winning two matches and finishing 3rd.

The match committee has received complaints that members are failing to turn up to play at their allocated time without notifying that they wish to cancel. This may leave other members without a playing partner on the day, and it may leave a vacant spot that could have been taken by another member.
The match committee has decided that if a player fails to turn up for their allocated tee time on 3 occasions and has not notified the Pro shop in a reasonable time the offending player will lose their playing privileges in competitions for 6 weeks.
A reminder that all members lose access to the timesheets at 4am on the date of play. Members can cancel prior to 4am or call the Proshop on 4337 3333. You can also email golf@gosfordgolf.com.au or leave an answer phone message if Proshop staff are busy.
Blue Metal
Blue metal was introduced onto the course to form cart paths and over the years the blue metal has been washed off the paths and into the general area. It has become embedded on bare batches mainly around paths but also in other areas.
NSW Golf's rules expert confirmed that as blue metal was introduced to the course for the purpose of forming cart paths, has now become embedded in bare patches and is not able to be moved it has therefore formed an artificial surface and relief would be allowed under rule 16.1b. This would not include where it is possible to remove the blue metal as loose impediments.
If you believe you are entitled to relief, you should check with your marker and if agreed take relief. If there is disagreement you have the option to play two balls and check the ruling with a match committee member or Pro shop staff at the end of play.
GUR (2nd Green)
Greenstaff are preparing the back half of the second green for new turf arriving on Wednesday 22nd March. This area of the green will be marked GUR from tomorrow, Friday 17th March. A drop zone will be in play on the high side (road side) of the GUR. Please take relief accordingly and remember that our surrounds are cut to fairway height or less for taking preferred lies.
Junior Clinics
A reminder to all members that our golf holiday clinics will be on during the school holidays. Please see the team in the Proshop if you have children/grand children who are keen to get into some golf during the school holidays.
