We hosted Nelsons Bay at Gosford this week and several of their players commented on the Gosford course layout and that they would return to play here again.
It was cold and several of our boys took a few holes to warm up but several came from behind to win their matches. Great wins to Clags and Fitchy early, followed by a half to Steve Mann left us with a very close finish. Mike Connors was comfortable all day and won his match at the second last hole and that left Duncan Brown to lead us home for a win.
Duncan was down early and playing a bloke that had qualified in his early years for the British Open. Duncan won the second last hole to go one up and again sealed the victory with a clutch putt on the last. His opponent was still saying an hour latter that he was the better player and couldn’t believe he had been beaten. I cant wait for the rematch next week. I have a schooner on Duncan to win.
Great win boys and looking forward to playing next week at Nelsons Bay.
