We welcome three new directors to the Board of the Gosford Golf Club
David Medcalf, who has been a member for the past 13 years and is an A Grade golfer who has representative in the Club on its pennants team and has won the Monthly Medal six times. He won the B Grade Championships in 2009 and went on to win the Central Coast District Champion of Champions in the same year.
He also assists with the ongoing maintenance and repairs to our Club house building over the past 2 years.
David manages the Gosford City Social Golf summer 9 hole competition which has been running for 23 year at the Gosford Golf Course on a Wednesday afternoon. This event sees 30 social players regularly using the clubs facilities.
He is currently employed by the new Central Coast Council managing a team of Project Engineers, Surveyors and Design Officers to deliver the Council’s Capital Works Program.
He previously worked for the former Gosford City Council for 37 years holding various positions including Civil Design Officer, Project Manager Road and Drainage Works. He holds a Civil Engineering Certificate.
David is married to Narelle who is a member of the Golf Club and regularly plays in the Tuesday Ladies competition.
Lindsay Morgan, a member for the past 25 years. Not only is Lindsay a good golfer, who has played at Tamworth Golf Club, where he was the Vice-Captain, he also played A Grade and State tennis and A Grade Squash and 1st Grade AFL. Upon his business transfer to the ACT he joined Yowani Golf Club. In 1992 he joined the Gosford Golf Club.
He has won the Monthly Medal five times and won the Medal of Medal in 1992. Lindsay has represented the Club in the Super Seniors over the past five years..
He has reached the rank of Sergeant in the Australian Army Reserve
In business he has worked for 37 years in the Life Insurance and Superannuation Industry holding such positions as National Sales and Marketing Manager with MLC, Assistant General Manager Superannuation Zurich Life and Assistant Vice President Sales and Marketing AVCO Insurance Services.
In 1999 he bought a 110 seat restaurant in Terrigal, Supermex was sold three years ago.
Lindsay has been married to Jan, who recently retired from the Education Department, for 44 years.
Graham Chee was elected as the Captain of our Club. Graham comes with an impressive resume in golf administration. He has deputised for Mark Stimpson our outgoing Captain for the past two years. A current member of the District Golf Association’s Board. The Pennant Teams for the past three years have been managed by him for the past three years in all 3 Grades and he also captained these teams as well as been a representative. He also has assisted with the Super Seniors teams. Currently he is involve in the organisation of Gosford Junior representatives for the Encourage Shield Team.
Before his retirement he has worked in the Department of Education, GIO/AMP/Suncorp for 28 years in various positions. He was the Project Manager for Cuddy Mockler Solicitors and a Director and Operations Manager for P&C Bramley Transport Pty Ltd,
Graham has been a Committee man all his life with memberships and directors roles with such sporting organisations as NSW Squash Racquets Assoc., NSW Veterans Golf Assoc. Brisbane Waters, Representative NSW Masters Pennant, and Central Coast District Golf. During his working life he served as a Director of the Sydney School of Mechanics and various management groups whilst with GIO/AMP/Suncorp.
We are very fortunate to have these three gentlemen join the Board of Directors of the Gosford Golf Club.
