F-Troop - Monday 17th November 2014

We had eight volunteers to share the load today and having 80 social players on the course did restrict a bit of our project management.

On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson, Warren Gray, Peter Martin, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The boys managed to remove some small dead trees, clean up near the out of bounds on the 17th, collect rubbish and loose timber from around the course, help me remove shrubs from their old pots and replant into new containers, remove a shelf from the members room.

Anne Burgess did a great job of cleaning up the BBQ area, underneath the clubhouse and watered the gardens at the front of the club.

I cleaned up at the bush toilet area and watered the gardens there, tidied up at the 3rd, 5th and 6th tees, re potted shrubs at the wedding garden area and watered the gardens there and at the putting green.

Our thanks and appreciation go to Mark Stimpson who donated one of the new pots for the wedding garden area and also to Graham Smith for donating the other three of the matching pots. Your generosity is helping us to generate this area into an attractive spot on the course.

My thanks also to Ron Gowing for his time today planting in some new stronger plants in the vertical garden.

Morning tea of Iced Buns was very welcome after a hard mornings work.  Thanks Chef Brad!

After morning tea Duncan Dyer took charge with his tractor and with the help of Trevor Harrison and Peter Martin as spotters, managed to clean up and push in the dump area at the 17th fairway.  What a big difference that has made to the look of the course.  Well done Duncan!

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
