F-Troop - Monday 16th June 2014

We had a small crew of 9 today - probably due to the colder weather coming in and the Final Round of the US Open being played in the early morning hours.

We had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Geoff Bridge. Rob Benson, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Carolyn Buttsworth and Jan Martin to cover the workload.

We had a busy day with a large group of 121 social players on the course so we selected projects that were off of the course.

The huge project of clearing the school fence line was completed and the boys have now taken on the task of clearing the back of the car park.   Today they managed to get about 50% of the work done which was a big improvement in itself. Duncan Dyer was on the chainsaw ably supported by Trevor Harrison and Geoff Bridge.  Peter Martin and Rob Benson kicked in with help after they had done some rubbish removal before the golf matches started.

Di, Carolyn & Anne worked around the clubhouse - generally cleaning up gardens at the front of the Clubhouse and the Wedding Garden and repotting a plant at the 1st and 10th gardens.

I potted some lavender plants at the 4th Tee, cleaned up at the bush toilets, painted the decorative windmill and wheelbarrow with anti rust treatment, cleaned up at the back of the putting green garden.

Morning tea of chocolate cake was very welcome after a hard morning's work.

We were happy to receive some more donations of assorted plants from Brian & Lesley Gregory.  Thank you Brian & Lesley!  We planted some of the lavenders at the 4th tee today which will hopefully grown as well as the last lot.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
