We had a good number of volunteers for F-Troop today which was great because we had a couple of big projects on and the extra hands were very useful.
We had 13 volunteers - Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson, Martin Gallagher, Trevor Harrison, Don Nicholls, Garry Trigg, Warren Gray, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Lorraine Bignall and Jan Martin.
The Course was busy with a large number of vet players which worked in well with our main projects of the day which were off the course.
We were very fortunate to receive a very generous donation of three trailer loads of Red Woodchip and a good supply of Road Base from Duncan Dyer. On the job we had Duncan, Martin, Trevor, Don, Garry, Peter, Di, Lorraine & Jan. The boys did the pick up and delivery and the girls helped with the weeding & spreading the mulch. The road base was used to fill the large pot holes in the entry road at the back of the club; the BBQ area, the path at the 1st and 10th tees and the F-Troop storage shed. The Red Woodchip was used to freshen up the gardens at the 1st and 10th tees. The boys also delivered and spread a trailer load of mulch for the front street garden.
Geoff, Warren and Rob did a great job on rubbish pick up around the course.
Anne Burgess cleaned up at the BBQ garden and watered some of the gardens.
Di cleaned up around the clubhouse and car park, helped with the Red Woodchip, cleaned up at the 15th Stelitzia garden and the bush toilets at the 14th with Anne's help.
Lorraine and I worked on the gardens at the 1st and 10th tees, cleaned up the garden at the front street entry trimming, watering and weeding.
Our morning tea was very welcome and we enjoyed scones, jam and fresh cream. Thanks Chef Brad!
After morning tea the garden watering was finished and the wedding gazebo cleaned out.
Peter & Martin did some maintenance work in the clubhouse.
Another donation we received today was from Bob Thomas which was a miniature windmill and a garden wheelbarrow which we will put to good use in the gardens. A big thank you to Bob! Watch this space to see what innovative garden design will come out of this!
During the week I received another donation of three trays of plants from Brian & Lesley Gregory. Thanks Brian & Lesley. We will put them to good use. The tray of Nandinas were planted in today at the 1st tee and look great.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
