HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: BIG CONGRATULATIONS TO HELEN POTTER who broke into single figures today with a score of 37 points including a birdie on the 1st; Duncan Dyer had a birdie on the 1st and the boys beat the girls for the keno ticket with Duncan's fine 4/3 on the 17th vs Jan's 5/3 which the girls needed to win; Ron Puiatti had a birdie on the 10th after putting for an eagle; Peter Martin had a nice par on the 13th; Joyce Bosley had a 4 pointer; Lauren Matterson had 4 pointers at the 8th and the 5th; Georgina Lamb won nearest the pin on the 8th; Col Matterson had a birdie on the 1st; Greg Evans chipped in on the 5th; Craig Ward had a birdie on the 3rd; Robbie Whyte had a birdie on the 15th; Neil Mulvaney had 41 points without any birdies; Peter Laybutt had a nice 41 points; Sue Hutton had a birdie on the 11th; George Foster had a FRAT (Failed to Reach the Associates Tee) on the 13th which cost him a round of Crownies; Wally Johnston had 4 pointers at the 9th and the 14th which included a 30 foot putt on the 9th; Lorraine Bignall hit a nice drive to the 8th green; Bert Brink had 3/3 on the 16th and 2/4 on the 14th; Michael Norman had 4/4 on the 11th and 3/3 on the 14th; Heather Robilliard had 5/5 on the 10th and scored 46 points in her very first competition game; John Storey had 3 pars in his first competition game.

On a sad note: it was reported to me today that former Gosford Member Mark Lavery suffered a massive heart attack and passed away last Friday. Our deepest sympathy goes out to Jill and family.
