After a shaky start to the morning with some quite heavy showers keeping us under cover for a while we managed to get a good workload done by lunchtime.
We had an excellent turn up considering the inclement weather with eight volunteers reporting for duty. We had Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Di Beechey, Peter Martin, Georgina Lamb, Anne Burgess and myself.
The girls headed under cover & cleaned the walk area and furniture underneath the clubhouse.
The weather cleared so we were able to work out on the front street where we picked up a lot of the fallen timber and rubbish that was along the front footpath.
After morning tea Georgina Lamb, Peter Martin, Geoff Bridge & myself started out on the course, cleaning the 1st green path, the 2nd tee area and the leaves to the left of the fairway, the 3rd ladies tee, and the 7th tee.
Martin Gallagher, Duncan Dyer and Geoff Bridge did a great job cleaning up and re-arranging the F-Troop storage rooms so that everything is tidy and easy to find. After morning tea Martin and Geoff re-staked some of the grevilleas on the 6th. Martin then delivered our first load of firewood for the season.
Morning tea was very welcome and we enjoyed some lovely fresh croissants with butter & jam - Yumm!
Thanks John!
We did achieve a lot more than we thought we would in the early part of the morning. We were expecting to get washed out & did not anticipate a lot of volunteers in the wet weather - so it was all good!
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
