The wet weather from yesterday continued with thankfully a few breaks here and there so that the die-hards of F-Troop could get some jobs done.
Putting in a great effort today were Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, George Foster, Peter Martin, Kerry Cubis and Peter Murphy. It was a credit to everyone just for turning up as the weather was not very encouraging.
We did get some very important work done at the cart sheds where the doors were in urgent need of maintenance. Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, George Foster, Peter Martin & Peter Murphy put in some good hours and managed to repair three doors.
George Foster also did some rough cutting at the front of the fence in Racecourse Road which was beginning to look shabby.
Kerry Cubis did a great job picking up rubbish & loose timber around the course & raking at the front carpark & side entrance.
I spent my time at the garden at the 10th tee and the gardens around the putting green including cleaning out the gutters surrounding the putting green which accumulate an amazing amount of rubbish, McDonalds wrappers, cardboard, drink bottles, assorted papers which somehow finds its way into the gutter instead of into a garbage tin.
Morning tea this morning was some delicious fruit pastries which we all appreciated. Our thanks to Chef John.
In all, we did achieve a lot of work given that there was only seven volunteers for the day.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
