Hawaiian Night - Friday 27th November 2009

THE HAWAIIAN NIGHT AND THE 9 HOLE AMBROSE COMPETITION proved to be an outstanding success with huge support from our Members and Guests. The weather Gods were kind to us and provided us with a beautiful balmy evening and the setting of the wedding garden was the perfect atmosphere.

We were (to coin a phrase) "packed to the rafters" on the wedding garden lawn with Members socialising after the complimentary 9 hole Ambrose competition and prior to the raffles and Member Draw. The Club provided a delicious buffet dinner including prawns, ham, chicken & salads with bread rolls which was great value for $10.

A big thank you to the Members for providing their own seating on the night. I think we would have had in excess of 100 people present for the Hawaiian night so "bring your own" was necessary.

9 HOLE AMBROSE COMPETITION:

WINNERS: Graeme Wright and Doreen Vines - nett 28

RUNNER UPS: Jim Forrester and Carmen Fitzgerald.

It was such great weather for late evening golf that we had approximately 80 people who participated which was a fantastic response.

BADGE DRAW RESULTS:

This draw was won by Alvin Kan - but unfortunately for Alvin he is not eligible to win in his capacity as a Club employee - so this draw will jackpot to NEXT WEEK - so be there next Friday Night.

$500 BADGE DRAW RESULT:

Because there was no result in the major draw, then the second draw for $500 proceeded. This had to be awarded to a Member present tonight so the draw was prolonged until that position was reached.

WINNER: Di Thomlinson $500.

This was a very popular win as Di has been a long time Club supporter and a regular at Friday Night Raffles.

The Club provided some appropriate background music during the evening & Members were still in the garden enjoying themselves when I left at 11.00 pm.

This was the best profit results ever from the Raffles - so well done Members.

I think this event may well be repeated at a future date due to to popular demand.
