It was a busy day for F-Troopers today. While we had some relief from the rain and not too many players on the course it was a good opportunity to get some work done on the course in addition to timber removal.
We had thirteen F-Troopers at work today that I saw. Garry Trigg, Duncan Dyer, Des Wilson, Peter Murphy, Geoff Bridge, Bruce White, Spencer Walklate, Peter Martin, Warren Gray, Jan Walker, Yvonne Wilson and Anne Burgess
Duncan Dyer and Spencer Walklate took control of the dead tree removal program & tidied up some low branches at the 12th. Des Wilson, Peter Martin, Garry Trigg, Peter Murphy, Bruce White, Warren Gray and Geoff Bridge delivered some maintenance to the pathways around the course and then assisted me with the trimming of the camelias on the 11th & removal of rubbish from around the course. Jan Walker did a great job of tidying up at the front entrance including the back of the 18th green, Anne Burgess did some tidy up at the front entrance. Yvonne Wilson fertilized and weeded her gardens and the orchids so they can spring back into flower next year. I cleaned up at the back of the 10th tee, weeded & cleaned up at the 13th and gave the camelias at the 11th a haircut. It was a good days work. Well done F-Troopers!
A new segment: Ticks and Crosses:
TICKS:
To the fourteen people who turned up to work with F-Troop this morning.
CROSSES:
To the person (unknown) who told one of our members this week (and who knows how many others) that F-Troop was being disbanded. How strange it is how these rumours start!!!!!!!!! Totally untrue.
You are invited to come along and join our ( not to be disbanded) F-Troop and help to make a difference to our course. We meet every Monday morning approximately 7.15 am. No special skills are required.
New members are always welcome.
