We had about 10 mls of rain overnight and we were hopeful of a few rain free hours this morning. It was not to be as the heavy showers set in not long after we started which brought most of us to a standstill by 8.30 am.
0n hand we had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Ray Cheal, John Hincksman, Rob Benson, David Medcalf, John Hollebon, Frank Potter, Peter Martin, Laurelle Freeman, Carolyn Buttsworth, Lyn Bates, Leeanne Binns and Jan Martin.
All of the girls and John Hollebon gave up at 8.30 and the rest - Duncan Dyer,Kevin O’Brien, Trevor Harrison, Rob Benson, David Medcalf, Ray Cheal, John Hincksman , Frank Potter and Peter Martin called an early morning tea.
Projects that we did achieve today were some loose timber and rubbish pickup around the course; our first delivery of fire wood for the year; Hedge maintenance; weeding of gardens at the 3rd Men’s Tee; tidy up of gardens at the 13th tee; part weeding of the BBQ Garden; course maintenance at the 15th.
It was disappointing to hear that some of our plants at the 13th garden have disappeared mysteriously since last week.
Our thanks to Ron Gowing for another donation of Crown of Thorn Plants for our front of Clubhouse Gardens and to Ray Cheal for a couple of nice succulent plants.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
