Tree maintenance on the 9th fairway

New hedge plants for the centre garden at the 10th tee

We started off well this morning with only 5mls of rain overnight not making a big impact on the course.

We were able to get on with our projects until heavy showers put a stop to most of our work.

We had 9 volunteers this morning which was good for a bad weather day.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Kevin O’Brien, Paul Smith, John Hollebon, Peter Martin, Ron Gowing, Steve Robinson and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were tree maintenance, loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, hedge maintenance, planting in of new hedge plants in the centre garden at the 10th tee ( almost got them all in before we got rained out), clean up of paths around the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tees and through to the practice nets,  tidy up of the 6th tranquility garden, cleaning of the bush toilets and tidy up of that area, cleaned areas around the sand bucket frames.

We had an enforced early morning tea and enjoyed fresh sandwiches - most of us dripping wet.
