Frank Potter - qualified for his F-Troop shirt today - doing the hard yards cleaning out the putting green gutter.

We had 12 volunteers turn up this morning after overnight showers.  The course was so wet we could not take any heavy vehicles or carts of any kind onto the very sodden course. The programmed renovations have been put on hold because of the conditions.

On hand we had Sam Knox, Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Kevin O’Brien, Rob Benson, Peter Martin, Don Nicholls, John Hollebon, Frank Potter, Nigel Asken, Adrian Burke and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were loose timber picked up around the course (collected on foot and left for later collection; firewood preparation - volunteers walked to the wood yard; removal of weed from the dams - volunteers walked to the dams; delivery of firewood (previously loaded on the Ute on a drier day); clean down and sanding of the BBQ area furniture and Cooking area; clean out of the drain behind the old practice putting green, Replacing soil on potted plants at the putting green, weeding garden at the back of the Men’s 10th tee.

The council have commenced removal of trees along Racecourse Road in preparation for the new cycle path. Plants removed from this area have found happier homes.

Our morning tea of fresh sandwiches was much appreciated after a hard mornings work.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
