Working on saving our Xanadu (Thaumatophyllum) Philodendron plants
after removal from the gardens near the 1st Tee.
(The boys did an amazing job completing the project in two hours)
We had a huge day of projects this morning and fortunately we had 11 volunteers turn up to help out.
On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Kevin O’Brien, Rob Benson, Les Wielinga, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Nigel Asken, Steve Robinson, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.
Our big projects today were removal of the large offcuts from the big tree at the 1st tee, removal of the Xanadu Philodendrons growing around the stumps at the 1st tee, placement of all the plants to a shady protected place until we have time to re-home them in the existing gardens.
Other projects were removal of the potted succulents that were on the stumps to the BBQ Garden, delivery of firewood, removal of some of the Agaves and transplant them into the garden at the 2nd green (formally - the golf shoes garden), loose timber and rubbish pick up around the course, clean up underneath the clubhouse, trimming of shrubs in the front street garden.
We earned our Morning Tea this morning which was appreciated.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
