Social players enjoying our course today.
With Kay & Garry Baillie at the 1st tee
We had a lovely cool day to enjoy our golf on the Village Green today. Our playing partners were Garry & Kay Baillie who were great company - just as well as my golf was a bit ordinary. We did enjoy some good highlights - the best of which was two gobbler shots from Peter + a near Hole-in-One at the 14th which hit the flagstick & Peter got an easy birdie.
The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies + 2 Ball Team.
We had 66 starters with 6 visitors from Forster-Tuncurry, Wyong, Shelly Beach, Wanneroo.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Russell Willings turned with 23 points which included birdies of the 3rd and 5th holes; Melanie Forster took advantage of the new rules on the 17th which allowed her to remove impediments from the Penalty area at the 17th where Melanie removed a heap of branches and loose impediments at the dump area which had soil over the top, her ball was underneath the mound and she managed to remove enough to allow her a clean shot from the penalty area ( which is a good example of the benefits of the new rules of golf that commenced on 1st January 2019; Duncan Dyer and George Foster squared with the girls for the Keno ticket after a hard fought match; George Foster had a chip in on the 15th and Clyde Cruickshanks had birdies at the 1st and 10th; Vicki Foster had two 3 pointers in a row to put pressure on the boys for the Keno Ticket; Paul Way's highlight was finishing; Stu Williams on the 2nd hole hit his driver to the drain which ricochet above his head and landed behind the Men's Tees - but he still managed to score 2 points; Sheila Williams sank a 50 foot putt on the 15th; Scott Conroy scored a birdie on the 17th; Carolyn Buttsworth enjoyed a good breakfast; Wally Robertson had 2 birdies = 4/4 on the 4rd & the 17th; Rhonda Robertson had 19 points at the turn; Peter Martin had a gobbler at the 2nd and the 7th & a birdie at the 14th (which was close to a hole-in-one hitting the flagstick; Kevin O'Brien had birdies on all of the par 5's; Jan Walker had 4/4on the 9th; Neville Walker had 3 x 3 pointers; Lorraine Bignall had some good drives; my highlight was finishing with the same ball I started with + had I not unfortunately had six wipes I would have finished with a respectable score!(maybe).
