HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Carla Tuinmen had 5 pluses and finished in the top 10 at her first competition day in Gosford playing with borrowed clubs, Clyde Cruickshanks had no birdies but did win nearest the pin at the 8th; Lyn Cruickshanks was a much improved player wiping out the field with a fine Plus 5 score; Vicki Foster had 3 pluses in a row at the 11/12/13th; Lauren Matterson parred the 14th; Col Matterson has birdies at the 10th and the 5th; George Foster chipped in on the 3rd, Mark Stinpson had a birdie on the 15th; Wally Robertson had birdies on the 3rd & the 7th; Rhonda Robertson hit a fine shot to the front of the green on the 15th, Alice Diamond hit her best shot of the day on the 15th landing right on top of Rhonda's ball scattering both balls - then both scored pars; Carolyn Buttsworth had two pluses; Lorraine Bignall's highlight was purchasing a new shirt from the Pro Shop with 25% discount; Duncan Dyer & Terry Coyle's highlight was beating the girls for the Keno ticket and Terry had Plus 5 on the front 9; Stu Williams scored a fine plus 5 score; Walter Loschi birdies the 1st; Bert Brink insisted he could hear the windmill on the 18th green turning which has created much suspicion about his claim for deafness; Paul Scholberg scored 5 pluses; My highlight today was playing with two lovely friends from Holland, winning a ball, scoring a 2/5 biride on the 8th (for one plus), scoring 4/4 at the 15th (for one plus) and finishing with the same ball I started with - a bonus was the girls thrashed the boys for the Kneo Ticket.
I understand a red bellied black snake made his presence abvious on the 17th fairway today - so beware of snakes in all ares of the course at this time of the year,
