We had a surprisingly good day for golf today after all the rapidly changing weather.  We had no rain after the course having early morning showers, a little breeze and some humid pockets through the day.

Our playing partners were George and Vicki Foster who were great company as usual and we had some really good highlights throughout the day - the best of which was George's gobbler chip in for a birdie for 3/4 at the 16th, closely followed by my 3/4 at the 12th and the hard fought Keno Ticket competition which took us to the 18th hole for a square result.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies + 2 Ball Team Event.

We had 61 starters with 4 visitors from Everglades, Terrigal, Windsor.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: The all important Keno Ticket Competition between the Martin/Foster group was hard fought throughout the 18 holes with the girls inching ahead for most of the day, being 4 down with 4 to play - Dormy 4 when George pulled out a magnificent gobbler chip into the hole at the 16th for a birdie 4 pointer which put the pressure back on, however an all square after a valiant attempt by the girls to get a 2 pointer at the 18th; this result after George had repeated A Grade bounces off of multiple trees throughout the day by George, not to mention some very show-offy shots from the boys to try to impress us including a great par at the 7th by George; Peter Martin parred the 1st; Vicki Foster had 5/3 at the 6th to save the hole for the girls; I had a 4 pointer at the 12th to put in my contribution; Brent Frewin was the star of the day with a par round, 5 birdies at the 1/4/8/15/18th for a magnificent 42 points (after scoring 40 stableford points in the Saturday competition); Owen James got nearest the pin at the 12th hole; Fran James had 5/3 at the 18th; Lorraine Bignall had a birdie 2/4 at the 8th and won nearest the pin - 195 cms while trialing her new Ping Clubs; The Boys beat the girls for the Keno Ticket in the Dyer/O'Brien Group; Garry Baillee had a nice day on the village green; Steve Robinson scored a birdie; Liz Robinson parred the 1st; Neville Walker had a gobbler/birdie on the 7th,5/3 on the 2nd and 5/3 on the 3rd; Wally Robinson scored a 4 pointer which was so important that he could not remember where it was; Cheryl Davison had a birdie on the 14th; Steve Robinson and Garry Baillie found a small baby tortoise on the putting green and returned it to it's natural habitat.
