With Fran and Owen James at the 1st Tee
Birthday Wishes for Kevin O'Brien at Gosford Hotel
by the stayers
We had all blue skies and sunshine today at the Village Green together with a nice breeze which we hoped would dry out the course. Unfortunately tonight we did get the predicted thunderstorm and more rain which was unwanted as the course was muddy in places but overall not too bad. Our playing partners were Owen and Fran James who were great company and we did enjoy some highlights the best of which was Peter's birdie on the 15th and we did chime in with some 3 pointers.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Peter Martin had a birdie on the 15th; Fran James had three 3 pointers and scored 18 points on the back 9; Owen James started the back 9 with 5/3 and 5/3; Carolyn Buttsworth had a relaxing nine holes; Brent Frewin had a birdie on the 18th; George Foster nearly had a hole in one on the 5th with a great drive and easily scoring a birdie; Col Matterson had a birdie on the 11th; George and Col beat the girls for the keno ticket; Jan Van den Berg was close to a hole in five; Alice Diamond had no wipes and scored a nice 31 points; Duncan Dyer was putting from 35 foot on the 14th and asked Rosalie to mark her ball which she promptly did, then he had to ask her to lift her ball as well, prior to that Duncan had marked his ball with a $2 coin which they had trouble finding on the recently sanded greens; Kevin O'Brien celebrated his birthday today after golf helped by some of his golfing friends my highlight was having no wipes and I would have finished with the same ball I started with except Peter declared it well over used ball and insisted that I replace it.
