We had a huge day at F-Troop today - even though we had a small group of eight volunteers we managed to get a lot of work done.
We had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Peter Martin, Geoff Bridge, Rob Benson, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin to share the load.
Tomorrow we have a big Ladies Invitation day so we wanted the course looking its best.
The Tree Gang of Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Trevor Harrison and Peter Martin combined to take down a dangerous branch on the big tree behind the Lavender Garden at the 16th Tee. It was a huge job as the branch was large enough that when it fell it went straight over the middle of the Lavender Garden (Shock Horror!!) It was unavoidable so I could not watch the branch come down and busied myself at the opposite side of the course. The Lavender will survive albeit a little worse for wear today.
Rob Benson did a great job painting the new seat at the Men's 3rd Tee. Rob then went and helped with the timber removal at the 16th.
Di Beechey and Anne Burgess were busy all morning tidying up around the Clubhouse and the BBQ Gardens including the car parks, raked up the side entrance to the club, tidied up at the 1st and 10th tees and worked on the garden at the 18th and Camellia Way.
I cleaned up at the Bush Toilets, removed fireweed from the 13th, tidied up the 17th fairway of sticks and rubbish including raking up some of the Bunya Pine leaves at the 17th.
Morning Tea of huge Chelsea Buns were very welcome after a good mornings work. Thank you Chef Brad!
After morning Tea Peter & I did rubbish pick up at the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th including removing some more fireweed from the 2nd fairway.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
