F-Troop - Monday 4th February 2013

At last we had a fine and sunny day to get some of our projects under way.

We had eleven volunteers today which was good and we got two of our big projects started with the help of Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Peter Martin, Trevor Harrison, Garry Trigg, Rob Benson, Warren Gray,  Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge and Martin Gallagher worked with the stump removalist working their way around the fairways removing the tree stumps which was the first of the big projects.

Warren Gray & Rob Benson took care of rubbish pick up and Rob also trimmed the hedge on the 2nd tee.

Peter Martin, Garry Trigg and Trevor Harrison, Di Beechey & Anne Burgess worked with me on the 6th native garden where we trimmed shrubs, removed old shrubs that were due for replacement, put down a layer of carpet for weed control & re-mulched some of the gardens.  Geoff Bridge assisted with his chain saw to remove some of the larger shrubs. This was the second of the big projects.

The agapanthus at the 2nd garden were trimmed which makes that the last agapantha garden to be done.
Mary Bromwich & Warren Gray did a great job of trimming the agapanthus on the 17th garden through the week - a mammoth job.  Thanks Mary & Warren!

Morning tea of mini muffins was welcomed as we had all worked hard all morning and well deserved the break.  Thanks Chef John!

The two projects will be ongoing to next week weather permitting.

YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
