We had twelve very useful helpers today for F-Troop and there was plenty of work to keep us all busy.
We had Duncan Dyer, Trevor Harrison, Bruce White, Warren Gray, George Foster, Peter Martin. Don Nicholls, Rob Benson, Sam Knox, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.
Duncan, George, Warren, Sam and Bruce made up the tree gang who made short work of the fallen tree on the 1st fairway and made some good inroads in removing the tree at the 17th.
Rob, Trevor, Don & Peter worked on the 10th tee - commencing the base to hold the decorative Balls that will sit on the corner of the 10th tee. This is a big project that has required some intensive planning.
Di & Anne cleaned up around the clubhouse, the BBQ area and took care of some watering and mulching of the course gardens as well as helping me on the 1st and 10th tees where we did a concentrated clean up and watering of the gardens including the removal of large and small branches and leaves that had fallen in that area.
This time of the year is always quiet painful as the traditional high winds cause havoc around the course and we seem to be doing the clean ups in the same places every week. The gardens are very dry and in need of rain. This is par for the course at this time of year and we can only hope that the winds desist and we get some nice steady rain (overnight and not on golfing days).
Morning tea was very welcome with some nice mini cakes from Chef John - Thanks John!
The watering system on the 18th is now back in working order with the watering systems at the 1st and 10th being work in progress.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
