Our F-Troopers had a very productive day dealing with a lot of projects with a small crew on hand.
Today we had Geoff Bridge, Duncan Dyer, Garry Trigg, Ron Beechey, Rob Benson, Richard Casey, Des Wilson, George Foster, Nigel Asken, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Georgina Lamb, Yvonne Wilson with Martin Gallagher acting as "starter" for the group.
Duncan, George & Des completed the security gates on the F-Troop storage shed so that the vehicles can be stored with safety.
Geoff Bridge & Garry Trigg started work on replacing the garden edges on the 6th & then did some rubbish pick up & assisted with the clean up of the front paths with the newly repaired garden vacuum cleaner.
Richard, Rob & Ron did a great job of creating a new drain to take the water off the cart cart path near the BBQ.
Di, Anne & Georgina cleaned up the wedding gardens & installed some new furniture donated by Sam Knox.
Di Beechey painted the furniture white to fit into the wedding theme. The old furniture that was at the putting green is now installed under the clubhouse for extra sitting room.
Our thanks to Sam Knox for his generous donations. They are a great asset to the club which is greatly appreciated.
Some plumbing work was done at the "bush toilets" at the 14th to repair the damage done by vandals/thieves who removed all the copper piping at the back of the toilets.
Yvonne Wilson did some fertilizing of her adopted gardens.
Nigel Asken continued his work removing crab grass from the fairways.
Morning tea this morning was a lovely walnut loaf which was greatly appreciated by all the workers. Many thanks to our kitchen staff & Chef John for their continued support with morning tea goodies.
This time last year we had high temperatures reaching into the 40's which caused great concern getting water to the gardens - no such worry this year - the gardens are well watered.
Photos today came from Martin & Di in my absence.
My thanks to Di Beechey & Anne Burgess for picking up the slack for me while I have been "resting".
I understand that the Wedding Expo was a huge success and the garden wedding went well.
YES! WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
