F-Troop - Monday 26th September 2011

We had another busy day for F-Troop after 4 1/2 inches of rain the previous day restricted our access to the course, as usual we found plenty of other tasks in need of attention that did not require us to be out on the course  The wild winds of the previous week left us with timber & branches down everywhere and even though we could not access much of the course we managed to collect quite  a few trailer & ute loads of rubbish.

We had Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge, Warren Gray, John Coddington, Peter Martin, Di Beechey, Anne Burgess, Georgina Lamb, Jan Martin & we welcomed for the first time Rob Benson to the F-Troop Brigade.

The Tree Brigade - Duncan Dyer, Martin Gallagher, Geoff Bridge removed branches from trees at the 18th, the 10th Men's tee garden and the 1st, removing rubbish & leaving all areas in good order.

John Coddington & Warren Gray, Peter Martin, Rob Benson, Di Beechey and Anne Burgess cleaned up the carpark areas, unblocked some drains & generally cleaned up rubbish from the front area of the clubhouse and the first and tenth tees.  John Coddington also volunteered to clean up the battery terminals on the ute so that we did not have any more trouble with the ute stalling..

The back garden of the Men's 10th tee was cleaned out with the removal of some trees and shrubs that were past their use by date.    This garden will now be cleaned out and new replacement shrubs put in place.

Georgina Lamb helped me to plant out six streletzias at the wedding garden area to help block off the street view of the wedding garden.  We also planted out five geisha girl shrubs at the racecourse road fence at the 1st green.

Georgina, Anne Di & myself cleaned up the practice net areas, the wedding garden, the first and tenth tee areas & the putting green area.  Later trimming the camellias & shrubs at the wedding garden.

Peter Martin & Rob Benson erected a sandstone garden seat at the ladies 10th tee.  This seat was donated to the club by Sam Knox.  Thank you Sam!.  Your recent donations have been wonderful & much appreciated by the members.

Peter, Rob & Mark Stimpson did some repair work on one of the work trolleys & Peter secured some shelving to the wall in our club storage area.

Our morning tea of fruit & chocolate pastries were much appreciated and we certainly earned them with hard work by our troopers today.  Thank you Chef John!

The 10th garden area is slowly coming together & should look very refreshed in the near future.

YES!  WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
