Wishing all of our Members a very Happy & safe Easter long weekend which should include some Happy Golfing weather permitting. This year I opted for Easter cup cakes instead of the traditional chocolates (photo attached)
We had some good weather today to welcome in the Easter Break which meant that golf was ON AGAIN at Gosford even though the girls had to play through the greenkeeper's catching up with their Tuesday maintenance program that was delayed from Tuesday due to the inclement weather. It is all for a good cause to get our greens to top standard which is what we strive for.
Other Happy Events tonight, one of which was the Members Badge Draw which was for $3,000 conditions being that the Member had to be present in the Clubhouse at the time of the draw. If that did not happen then tonight there was going to be a draw for $500 until such time as a Club Member was present. Needless to say, we had a good crowd of Members present tonight with great anticipation of being the lucky one. We did in fact have a lucky Member for the $3,000 draw and that was JOHN DOOLAN. CONGRATULATIONS JOHN! This night is well worth supporting, for the meat raffles and Bistro meal and to pick up the Members Draw. Generally these raffle nights are on every Friday night - next week will recommence the draw which will again increase each week by $50 until such time as the lucky Member is present or the $3,000 limit is reached. It is a good social night and is well supported by the Members.
Another special occasion being celebrated at the club tonight was Richard Casey's retirement from Gosford City Council which was well supported by his colleagues and friends. Richard & his lovely wife Leonie are F-Troop Members and they look after the gardens at the front street of the clubhouse. We are looking forward to seeing more of them in their retirement years. HAPPY RETIREMENT RICHARD! ( I have some jobs lined up for you if you get bored!)
Also celebrating her birthday tonight at Gosford Golf Club was Marie Kearney - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARIE! Marie & Ray are regular Members that attend out Friday night raffles.
The Golf Event of the day was a Ladies Single Stableford Over the Field and we had 21 starters which was good considering the conditions of yesterday & the course maintenance being carried out today.
