Thursday 7th May 2009 was Invitation Day held at Wyong Golf Club with benefits to go to the Jane McGrath Foundation. The Wyong ladies were wonderful hosts and the day was well supported by the Gosford Ladies and other clubs in the district. Everyone was asked to wear "pink" to acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness so there was a sea of pink all over the course.
The day was very well supported by all the local clubs - having something like 175 starters lining up for a 7.00am shotgun start followed at 12.00pm by another group about the same size.
All credit must go to the Wyong Club for coping with fields of this size. The catering for Morning Tea and a BBQ lunch received many compliments from the players. There were trade tables at presentation & items for sale to support the Jane McGrath Foundation as well as a huge raffle with very good prizes.
We had a lovely sunny day & the course was in very good condition so there was nothing to blame for bad scores. It is great to see these special days well supported & I am sure everyone had just as good a day as I did.
Tuggerah Lakes Club was well represented and took off the main trophies from the morning field. Ros Singleton was our only Gosford winner of a trophy with some of our girls getting balls for a good team score. I have not got any information on the afternoon group but I did see some of our girls getting ready to play when I came in.
Special thanks to Lola Martin from the Wyong Club (one of my playing partners) for the above photos of the day.
