F-Troop Morning Tea - Kevin O’Brien, Peter Martin, Sam Knox, Ron Gowing, Duncan Dyer, Steve Hogg, Don Nicholls, Terry Coyle, (John Hollebon, Rob Benson, Di Beechey, Jan Martin)


We had great weather to work on our projects this morning working around a very busy course full of Vets players.

On hand we had Duncan Dyer, Sam Knox, Kevin O’Brien, Steve Hogg, Terry Coyle, Rob Benson, John Hollebon, Ron Gowing, Don Nicholls, Peter Martin, Di Beechey and Jan Martin.

Projects worked on today were firewood preparation, assisting the staff with stump removal, removal of weed from the dam, loose timber and rubbish removal from around the course, repair of broken seat at the 1st Tee, clean up along the back of the clubhouse, mulching and tidying up of the Wedding Garden, tidy up of paths at the clubhouse, 1st and 10th tee, practice nets and wedding garden, maintenance of hedges, trimming back camphour Laurel shoots and poisoning at the 17th tee, mulching at the green space gardens, cleaning of the bush toilets, cleaning out gardens and drain at the 14th green space gardens.

Morning tea was welcomed after a hard mornings work.

We had a lovely day for golf on the Village Green today.  Our playing partners were Wally and Rhonda Robertson who were great company and provided us with some great highlights, the best of which was Rhonda’s long putt on the 17th that was never going to miss.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies+ 2 Ball Team Event.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY as reported to me: Rhonda Robertson has pars at the 5/8/15/16/17th; Wally Robertson had 4/4 at the 17th, 5/3=at the 6th’ 4/4 on the 9th;;Peter Martin had. Pars on the 14/15/16th; Steve Turner had 42 points including 3 pointer on the 15th, 3 pointer on the 16th, 4 pointer on the 17th and 3 pointer at the 8th; Geraldine Turner enjoyed good company; Lauren Matterson was a steady player; Col Matterson had birdies at the 2nd and the 10th; Clyde Cruickshanks had 38points which included a birdie at the 4th and some good pars; Neville Walker parred the 1st; Jan Walker parred the 12th and the 8th; Kevin O’Brien birdied the 2nd and hit a great shot at the 17th from behind the tree, over the dam and chipped in for a par; Fay Baillie parred the 14th and won nearest the pin and had good pars on the 11th and the 17th; George Foster’s highlights were the boys beat the girls for the keno ticket and finished with the same ball he started with; Annie Brink played 18 holes; my highlights were 3/4 on the 8th and beat my score from last week.

We had a great night at the Trivia Night at Gosford Golf Club to support our Gosford Juniors,

I had a better night than most because my name was pulled out after many draws where no members were present at the Golf Club until my name came out for the $2,200 draw that had to be won tonight by an attending member.  YES! IT WAS ME ! After religiously attending every Friday  Night for our Member Draw.

YES! THINK ABOUT THAT! Your name could be next and the club needs your support.
If every member came once a month of a Friday Night to support the club it would be awesome.
It is a good social night and you can fill your freezers with the meat raffles on offer.
