We had a lovely day for golf today with 71 starters for a winter competition - the popular Grandma & Great Grandma's trophies.

My playing partners were Kath Small and Judy Hughes and we had an enjoyable day on the village green.  We did have some good highlights even if the pars were hard to find.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Par + Grandma & Grandma's Trophy.

We had 71 starters.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY:  as reported to me: Bernadette Kirkman had two pluses being on the 9th  green for 3 - enjoying 6 pluses in her game; Joyce Bosley parred the 9th; Anne Forrester parred the 3rd and the 6th; Denise Bentlin birdied 15 and parred the 4th; Alice Collett had a nice day having just come back from her European Holiday; Fay Levenspiel had a birdie on the 5th; Margaret Davidson stayed out of trouble; Narelle Medcalf still jetlagged from her overseas trip played well in her new British Golf Shoes having a gobbler at the 5th; Helen Potter had a birdie on the 6th; Sheena Asken had a birdie on the 15th; Chris Shaw had a birdie on the 8th; Glennis English had a good come back on the second 9; Sharon Anderson had 4 pluses in a row - 12/13/14/15; Bev Adams had 4 Pluses in a row 14/15/16/17; Jan Fitzgerald had 4 pluses in a row 8/9/10/11; Eileen Major had a birdie on the 16th; Kath Small played well for her square; Judy Hughes got some good 3 pointers; my highlight was parring the 12th after two careless wipes and then finished with the same ball I started with.

F-Troop - Monday 21st July 2014

We had a surprising amount of volunteers this morning considering there was a lot of bleary eyed people after watching the Final Round of the British Open until the early hours of the morning,

We had nine volunteers and got some good work done.

On hand we had Trevor Harrison, Rob Benson, Duncan Dyer, Geoff Bridge, Peter Martin, Warren Gray, Don Nicholls, Anne Burgess and Jan Martin.

The Tree Gang cut down the large dead pine at the 9th green and did a great job of missing the green.

Warren Gray & Rob Benson were on pick up duty around the course and did a good job of collecting the Crepe Myrtle cuttings off the 10th and the 2nd.

Peter Martin & Don Nicholls solved the plumbing problems in the Associates Room.

Anne Burgess worked on replanting the grasses at the 18th and watered the gardens at the 1st and 10th as well as a general tidy up of the club area.

I worked all day on trimming the Crepe Myrtle trees on the 10th, 2nd fairway, 8th fairway and above the temporary green at the 2nd fairway as well as watering the newly donated plants we received from Brian & Lesley Gregory (yet to be planted out)

We enjoyed morning tea of iced buns, large muffins and fresh fruit.  Thank you Chef Brad!

Those of us that had sat up very late watching the golf through needed to go home for a Nanny Nap.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY - I was not at golf today to gather highlights however by the look of the results it was a Buttsworth, Hazzard & Brink show.  My highlight was being inside a cosy pub out of the cold.

A touch of winter today with a very brisk breeze to keep us alert.  That did not worry any of our good golfers today with some great scores coming in.

The Golf Event of the day was a Single Stableford for Men and Ladies.

We had 85 starters with 9 visitors from Kooindah Waters, Massey Park, Pt. Macquarie, Tamworth, Toukley & Wyong.

For a freezing cold winter's evening we had a reasonable amount of Members and Guests for our Friday Night Members Draw and Raffle Night especially considering the Badge Draw went off to a winner last week making this weeks draw worth $600 (not to be sneezed at)

Next Friday Night we have one of our special fun nights with dinner and entertainment of music (to our era)  to keep us entertained for a mere $40.00 ph for a two course meal plus some great foot tapping music.
Bookings can be made at the office to ensure your table is available for you to enjoy a great night with your friends.

If you have not been at the Club on Friday Night for a while this would be a good time to start so you can take advantage of all the Club Specials put on for our Members and Guests.

You will notice a great change in the appearance of the Club Foyer when you enter the Club.  Our Function Staff are making a really great effort to make this a good experience for you by changing the decorations every month so you can appreciate what the club has to offer.
