F-Troop - Monday 6th June 2016

A lot of the water across the 18th and 11th has drained

On the 10th - still some puddles

Bunker at the 15th

Bunker at the 15th

15th fairway near the tee

Traditional wet part of the 15th

6th Fairway - wet areas up to the hill

Drain at the 5th

5th tee

Bunker at the 1st

Green at the 9th - greens in good order

Water still bubbling up at the 18th fairway

It was too wet on the course for heavy vehicles today so we were unable to do any of our normal projects.  We were unable to get our vehicles out of the sheds for pick up duty so nothing was able to be done to clean up the course. The F-Troopers had an unscheduled day off.

I walked the course this morning and found that for the majority of the course had drained very well since yesterday. We still have our traditional wet areas in the low parts of the course and the bunkers were all little swimming pools for the ducks. It is still wet underfoot but in surprisingly good condition.

Tomorrow I would expect that the course will be open and there is to be a Single Stableford for Ladies following the postponement of the Gosford Bowl. You should check with the Pro Shop regarding the state of the course and whether carts will be allowed on.

If we have some more wind and sunshine I would expect that Wednesday's golf will go ahead as programmed.

Postponement of the Ladies Gosford Bowl - Tuesday 7th June 2016

We have been advised that the Ladies Gosford Bowl due to have been played on Tursday 7th June 2016 has been postponed until Tuesday 16th August 2016 due to the state of the course after the recent storm damage.

Monies paid will be held over until 16th August 2016. If you are unable to play that day a refund will be available.

In the event that the course is playable next Tuesday a Single Stableford will be the competition of the day, providing we have enough players to form a competition.

Looking from the fenceline to the 4th green

OMG!  Water everywhere!   It will be interesting to see just how quickly our drainage works this time.
The course is very wet but there are only the low lying areas of the course that are badly effected.

The course is closed for obvious reasons and hopefully our drainage system will do the job quickly once again.

Some sunshine over the next few days would be good so we are back on the Village Green.

Golf - Saturday 4th June 2016

Nothing but grey skies can I see.

The weather forecast was correct today with overnight rain which continued all day.  The course was closed being unplayable.

The weather for tomorrow does not look too good at this time.  We can only hope that the rain moves on and gives the course a chance to recover.

Check with the Pro Shop tomorrow if you are in doubt about the condition of the course.
